I have several standard size, 4x6 images that I need to crop in order to "zoom in" on the center of the photo. However, I need the crop to still be printable as a 4x6. However, when I try to use the Crop tool, the crop rectangle won't keep my shape 4x6 and I don't understand how to use the pixels and percentages to keep the rectangle compatible with 4x6 prints. Auto crop is no help. Looking up aspect ratios wasn't helpful because it doesn't translate to what is offered in the tool (pixels and percentages). I'm not tech savvy- I just simply want to crop an area in the center to cut out the superfluous space around the edges of the photo. Please help!

Hi,

The 4x6 size is for a portrait 4 inch by 6 inch photo. You need at least 300 pixels per inch for a good paper print quality so that will translate to a rectangle of width 1200 by height 1600.

So you can cut a rectangle of 1200x1600 from the centre of your photos to zooming them in.
