In the Date filter's settings make sure the Placement is Bottom-Center and the Delta X and Y values are set to 0. If you have other settings the results will not be consistent, just as you reported.

You can try to disable "Use multicore processors..." from the app Settings. You can also try to resize the images so they don't require too much memory to process.
