Failed To Load error

I have found a couple of posts about this problem, but I have not found an answer that helps me. I am converting from bmp to jpg and 2 out of 44 of my pictures convert. I have compared the properties and cannot find a difference.
The first folder I converted after purchasing this software worked wonderfully. Now I have 2 more folders to convert and one folder converts 2 out of 44 (mentioned above) and the other converts 1 out of 52.
I did try to convert just one and that does not work either unless I let it 'convert' with no changes (to another bmp).
This is loaded on Windows Vista.
