converting file to png

I'm trying to convert an image to a png file. But it keeps coming back with a white background. I need a transparent background.

Does the original image has a transparent background (it will show-up in BatchPhoto's previews as a check-board)? If not you should edit the original image with a image editor (like http://www.getpaint.net/) to add the transparency and then use BatchPhoto.
BatchPhoto is designed to apply a set of operations on dozens of pictures in one go so it cannot make fine adjustments specific to every single image, like adding transparency.
Please let me know if there is something else.
