Photobucket
One of the greatest advantages of digital photo vs classical ones is the ability to easily share them with friends and family. This is why a lot of online services have appeared that offer the ability to upload and share online photo albums, a well known such service is Photobucket
Photobucket Overview
Besides providing a place to store your online photo albums Photobucket also provides image hosting for eBay, live journals, blogs, and message boards. Photobucket's service comes in two flavors: the free account (1GB disk space, 10GB monthly bandwidth and 1MB max image size, as of Apr' 2006) and the premium account at $25 per year (5GB disk space, unlimited bandwidth and 2MB max image size).
The common image formats can be uploaded (JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP, TIF, and SWF) into "private", "public", and "guests only" albums. Photobucket let's you directly link to the uploaded photos by providing the photo's URLs.
As with the other online photo album services your can order online from Photobucket prints, photo books, calendars, greeting cards, gifts and so on.
Recommendations
It is unpractical to upload the original pictures taken with your digital camera because of the large file sizes which requires a lot of time to upload online. The original photos may be larger in size than 1MB due to very high resolutions (picture's width x height) and poor image compression.
In addition the original pictures have cryptic names given as default by digital cameras (like "Dsc3212.jpg") so they cannot be identified by name. In order to painlessly solve those problems you can use a purposely built software like BatchPhoto.
BatchPhoto lets you select a group of pictures, define a series of edits, and apply them in a single operation. So you can resize and rename dozens of pictures at the same time and then upload them to Yahoo Photos very fast. Learn more about BatchPhoto
